Research is very important when you are travelling. A quick search about your travel destination can help you in exploring more places. In recent years, we have seen travellers doing research about their destination, and planning their trips accordingly. Many times, it has been seen that Travel Agents and Travel Guides don’t share much information. They sometimes even fool you by showing unnecessary places. Also, once abroad you cannot wholly trust the locals. Thus, a small research can help you in being prepared for the experience. In this Blog, we will share some ways in which you can research about your Travel Destination. Though most of the points are related to the Internet, but they will keep you informed about almost everything. Let’s get started…….

  


Tour Itinerary


1.      Tour Itinerary: The first step is to go through the Tour Itinerary. This includes the places you will visit, duration of tour and excursions. Ask your travel agent for the best Itinerary.  The Itinerary will give you an idea about your destination. Also, note down places of least interest. Places attracting more interest should be kept as priority.



2.      Google: After studying the Itinerary, search on Google about the destination. If you find more places of interest, add them to your priority list. You can search almost anything on Google. This will certainly inform you about other hidden places. Don’t forget to visit the Tourism Website of the Place you are visiting. They hold a lot of information, and also take bookings.



3.      YouTube Vlogs: There are thousands of videos and vlogs about all travel destinations on YouTube. Watch these videos and vlogs to get more information about your destination. YouTube is just like Google. It has hundreds of Travel Vloggers posting videos about their Travel experiences. Google gives you theoretical info about your destination, while YouTube gives the actual reality of how the place looks like.

4.      Travel Blogs/Articles: Travel Bloggers write a lot about their travel experiences. They can be in the form of Blogs or Articles. Websites like Readitt, Stumble Upon, Blogger, etc can have thousands of Articles and Blogs. When you go through Google, you can also find links to these Articles. You can also visit these websites directly and search about your Travel Destinations. You can also check our Blogs on different destinations on our Blog Archive section.



5.      Social Media: Websites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have a lot of Groups and Pages related to Travel. join these groups and ask other members for suggestions. Travellers share their honest opinions on these groups. These Social Media Groups include people from all over the world, and give you different perspectives.



6.      Travel Books: There are a lot of Travel Books available in the market. Books on different destinations can be found at every Book Shop or Library. If you don’t wish to purchase, get it from a Library. Though Books are often ignored over the internet, but they also include some fruitful information.

7.      Ask other Travelers: If you have a Friend or relative who has been to the place, ask them for advice. They will give you good insights about the place you are visiting. Also, ask them about Public Transport and Food. A person who knows you will give the best suited advise for you.

8.      Make Changes: After doing the research, compare it with your Itinerary. If the Itinerary is fine, well and good. Else, ask your Travel Agent to make changes as per your interests.
